Topological Enhancement of a PT-Symmetric Su-Schrieffer-Heeger Quantum Battery

Abstract

This work investigates a non-Hermitian quantum battery based on the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger lattice, charged through a PT-symmetric protocol with alternating gain and loss on the two sublattices. The interplay between topology and non-Hermiticity creates bulk and edge exceptional points that shape charging dynamics. In the topological regime, an edge-state exceptional point appears at weaker gain-loss strength than the bulk thresholds, giving rise to improved transient and long-time charging performance.
